It is with great sadness that the family of Michelle Lynn McLeod, 58, of Cherry Hill announces her passing on Monday, July 12, 2021 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Leamington, Ontario, she was the daughter of Carolyn (Conrad) Walsh of First South and the late Ronald McLeod.
Michelle’s working career started at the Sail Loft in Second Peninsula and she then went on to work at North Sails and the Dory Shop in Lunenburg.
Michelle had a quick witted, firecracker personality but enjoyed the simple things in life. She found the greatest pleasures in times spent with family and friends, enjoyed being outdoors in nature, gardening, bird watching, sewing, painting, and writing poetry. Even though her life was cut short, she touched the lives of many and will continue to live on in our memories.
Besides her mother, Carolyn, Michelle is survived by her son, Colton (Jeff Pelkey), Bayport; companion Ted Higney; sisters, Wendy Mersey (Ed), Rose Bay, Stephanie Kjelland (Todd), Rose Bay, Kim McAlpine (Marcello), Niagara Falls, Patricia McLeod, Bridgewater; brothers, Steven McLeod, Mount Uniacke, Ron Jr. McLeod, (Patsy), St. Paul NB, Michael McLeod, St. Antoine NB, Ted’s children, Ted and Tessa as well as several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, Michelle was predeceased by her step-father, Basil Walsh.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service to celebrate Michelle’s life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating.
