Obituary of Donald Edgar Behie
Age 77, Sheet Harbour, died peacefully Monday, January 11, 2021 in The Birches Nursing Home, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in Sheet Harbour January 26, 1943, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Eisan) Behie. Donnie was employed at the pulp mill in Sheet Harbour until its closure in 1971, then was employed with the Department of Highways as a plow operator until his retirement. He also had a painting business for several years. Donnie’s passion was sports, especially hockey on Friday nights. He also enjoyed walking and doing his weights. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Leola; daughter, Terena, Jeddore; son, Garth, Hamilton, Ont.; grandchildren, Donald, Liam and Kristen; daughter-in-law, Theresa; sisters, Francis Josey, Sharon (Cedric) Boutilier, both of Sheet Harbour; Judy (Raymond) Gallant, Amherst; Linda, New Brunswick; brothers, Jimmy (Margie), Mount Uniacke and Gary (Jeannette), Eastern Passage. Predeceased by biological father, Carl Casey; sisters, Marie Burgoyne, Evelyn Baker, Sheila Hilchey; brother, Parker. Cremation has taken place. Burial at a later date.
