Obituary of Joris Karel Geldhof
Geldhof, Joris Karel
In loving memory, we say Aloha to our beloved Papa, Joris Karel Geldhof. Born April 30, 1932 in Gistel, Vlaanderen, Belgium. He went to heaven on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
He was happily married for 61 years to Rose Marie Geldhof (nee. Rondelez). Loving father to his three children Angeline, Anthony, Noelle. Adored grandfather to Emmaline, Maximillian and Marcus. He will be missed by future son-in-law Shane MacMillan, brother Lucien Geldhof (Godeliva), in-laws Marie and Joseph Vajko, Jerome and Madelaine Rondelez, Johan and Patricia Rondelez. Uncle to Joseph, Suzanne, Elizabeth, Rose Marie, Jerome Jr., William, Michelle, Johan Jr., Martin, Maurice, Annette, Peter, Ronny and Patrick and to many grand-nieces and nephews.
Joris came to Canada in May 1955. For over 50 years he cleared the land for farmers across Sothwestern Ontario. In the last years of work, he enjoyed the art of building golf courses. Always an adventurer, he travelled all across Canada, Europe, Mexico and the US. In retirement he spent 25 winters living in Hawai’i. Papa was a lover of nature spending many hours tending his gardens. He taught us so many valuable life lessons, the most important is to love with all our hearts.
