Zoé’s Obituary
AMIRAULT, Zoé Elizabeth – age 96, Meteghan, Digby Co., formerly of Hubbard’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born September 8, 1924 in Hubbard’s Point, she was a daughter of the late Luxime and Jennie (Muise) Doucette. Zoé was a homemaker. She will be remembered as a loving and devout woman who loved her family, children and animals. She enjoyed playing bingo, baking (especially apple pies!) and watching wrestling, soap operas and cooking shows. She loved to keep her hands busy whether by sewing, praying her rosary or doing crossword puzzles. She took great pride in her housework and was a meticulous housekeeper. This beautiful soul will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by a brother, Wallace “Wally” (Ruth) Doucette, Halifax as well as by many loving nieces and nephews and their families, along with her loving caregiver for the past 15 years, Holly (Janet) Crouse. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jean J. “Elien” Amirault; a son, David Amirault; brothers, Edward in infancy; Edward Doucette, Natalie LeBlanc, Honorine Comeau and Fannie Bourque and a very special great-nephew, Terry LeBlanc. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, with prayers at 7 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. All visitors are asked to please use only the parking lot entrance. Please bear in mind that there will be limited seating and social distancing guidelines must be followed; as such, you may be required to wait outside for some time. A funeral Mass will take place on Monday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste-Anne du Ruisseau, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiating. Again, due to Covid protocols, seating will be limited to 100 people at the church – please phone Huskilson’s Funeral Home (902-742-3626) to reserve seating at the church.
