March 3, 1945 – July 4, 2021
A proud resident of Wiikwemkoong on Buzwah Hill.
Son of Mary ba (nee Manitowabi) and James Corbiere ba. Beloved husband of Joanna Corbiere for 43 years.
Loving father to Sherman, Allison (Dwayne)
and Nicole (Rodney).
Proud grandfather to Brett Pangowish, Brandon Corbiere (Roxxanne), Private First Class Nicholas Corbiere (US Army) and Lance Corporal Caleb Corbiere (US Marines).
Great Grandfather to Akaylia Corbiere.
Brother of Thomas Corbiere-ba, Honorine Peltier-ba (Eugene-ba), Boniface Corbiere-ba (Mary Ann), Doreen Bebamikawe-ba (Clement-ba), Theresa Naokwegijig (Leonard),
Shirley Nashkawa (Martin-ba), Carroll Kitchikake,
Timothy O’Connor-ba (Cecilia), and Daniel O’Connor.
Son-in-law to Nora and Norman Maiangowi. Brother-in-law to Donnie (Louise-ba), Margaret (Ron), Clarence-ba, Philip-ba, Rita (Jim), Lindy (Bruce), and Kimball (Rachael).
Godfather to June, Blaine-ba, Beverly, Cherylyn, Matthew, Meeshen and Erika. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be sadly missed by his beloved pets Nacho and Zhiingis.
Glenny grew up in Wiikwemikoong with many siblings and cousins. He went to school in North Bay at Scollard Hall and a College in Toronto to become a diesel mechanic. He moved to Lansing and worked for Oldsmobile. He was then drafted into the US Army for 2 years and stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky and Fort Carson, Colorado. Glenny came home to Wiikwemkoong where he raised his family and worked for the Wiikwemkoong Water and Sewer department for over 30 years. He retired in 2010 spending his time with Nacho going on bush rides and camping. He enjoyed trips to the US to visit family and going to the casino. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying bird watching and collecting rocks. He enjoyed his coffee and sweets.
