Obituary of Valerie Joan Barry
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Joan (Nearin) Barry on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and daughter of the late Walter and Audrey Nearin.
She is survived by her children, Brian Barry (Linda), of Montaque, PE; daughters, Theresa Mills (Wayne); Susan Lynch (Mike); Sharon Cormier (Leonard) and Maureen Williams (Mike) all of Fredericton; grandchildren, Erin James, Chelsea Dyer, Matthew Lynch, Scott Barry, Chrissy Barry, Andrew Cormier, Shawn Cormier, Justin Barry, Morgan Barry, Ryan Williams and Samantha Williams; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Deecker (John) of Milton NS.
Besides her parents Valerie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Barry and son, David Barry.
She was a devoted member of St. Anthony’s Church. She was an avid Blue Jays fan, thoroughly enjoyed her shopping trips, and loved her card games. Val enjoyed social events with friends, family and neighbours – never passing up an opportunity to share laughs.
Special thanks to home care workers Valerie and Janet and the wonderful compassionate care given by the staff of the Hospice House.
The arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. A private service will be held for the family on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Interment will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Hospice House Fredericton or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
