Richard Alexander Jones 19462021

Richard Alexander Jones
1946-2021
It is with hearts full of gratitude, that we
surrender the life of Richard Alexander Jones to be in the near
presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Richard
Alexander Jones, 75, of Woodville, Kings Co., passed on Tuesday, June
29, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by his
wife and daughters. Born in Kentville, he was the son of the late
Archibald and Eva (Jones) MacDonald.
We had the absolute pleasure of knowing him as
a devoted Husband, faithful Father, and adored Grandfather. Richard
had many pleasures in life; guitar playing, ham radio, woodworking and
carving. There was never any questioning his priorities. It
was most important to him to love God with all his heart, mind and
spirit, and to love others as himself. He put his wife,
family, church family and community above anything else and he served
them to the very best of his ability. He served in many
roles throughout his lifetime – deacon, trustee, finance committee
member, chorister, Fire Fighter, member of the Militia, and was a
member of Big Brothers Big Sisters. This kind and gentle man always
made room for children; greeting and connecting with them in a simple,
yet sincere way and making them feel welcomed and
valued.
Richard spent the past several years embracing
life – with Alzheimer’s but enjoyed spending his days at his
home playing with his grandchildren, enjoying the outdoors, and
spending summer evenings by the bay in Canada
Creek.
Richard leaves behind the woman he always loved
and continually cherished, Rosemary (Ball), his wife of nearly 50
years. He will be forever missed by his children, Rae-Anne
(Anthony) Ward, Coldbrook; and Carys (Adam) Palmer, Grafton; his
beloved grandchildren, Kamryn, Jordyn, Layne and Brooks Ward, Ryley
and Lily Palmer; sister, Jean Killam, Greenwich; and many nieces,
nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his sisters, Geraldine Turbitt, Phyllis Hale, Nona
Vincent and Joyce Spidle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew
him.
The family has been overcome with emotion and
gratitude as your messages of condolence and thoughts of
prayer have been pouring in over these past few days. We
knew that he was a wonderful man, but it is such a tribute to his
legacy to hear how he impacted and inspired those around him, and how
he led so many to God by living in Jesus’
example.
There will be no visitation. A graveside
service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in
Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings Co., Pastors Jack and Audrey
Carter officiating.
Now, as he greets his Creator face to face and
is healed from all disease, he would like us to share his favourite
verse of scripture for you to hold as your guide:
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ
who strengthens me”. Thank you Dad, for
everything.
COVID-19 health regulations and physical
distancing will be followed; masks are recommended. Please bring your
own chair if you wish to be seated. An on-line webcast of the
graveside service will be available on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 10:00

or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
