Obituary of David Winston Ball
It is with broken hearts we must announce the passing of our father David Ball on June 25th, 2021 at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander at the age of 84.
David is predeceased by his soulmate and love of his life, Pearl; parents Samuel and Beatrice; siblings Lester, Lorna, Mavis, Freeman and Milton.
He leaves behind to mourn, their four children, Evelyn (Robert), Carolyn (Arthur), Neil (Nancy), and Gail.
He is survived, and will be deeply missed, by his siblings Kevin (Audrey), Helena (Doug), Cora and Maisie, Verna (Jack), grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer (Jason) and David. Great grandson, Cameron and great granddaughter, Jessie along with many nieces and nephews.
Dad was first and foremost a loving husband and father who was totally devoted to his family. He was a kind, proud man and his children had the utmost love and respect for him. As a carpenter he could build anything and was at his happiest in retirement years building miniature bird houses and churches for our mother to paint.
Dad was an extraordinary storyteller and his recollection of people and past events were astounding. His love of guitars always filled our home with music and laughter.
We, his children extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Paulus and the staff of Mount Paton Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care.
A special thank you to uncle Kevin and aunt Audrey for always being there to support dad, he looked forward to your weekly visits.
Resting at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte, visitation will take place on Sunday, June 27th from 2-4pm and 7-9 p.m. (Following Government Regulations). Funeral service will take place from Families Funeral Home on Monday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery in Stanhope.
