Symmers Todd June 8th 2021

Symmers, Todd
June 8th, 2021
Our beautiful brother, son, uncle, and friend, Todd Symmers, suddenly and peacefully completed his journey on Earth on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Born on June 2, 1971, his family was privileged to have him for 50 wonderful years.
Predeceased by his Dad, John Symmers, Aunty Kathy, Uncle Richard, Aunty Yvonne, and Aunty Cecile. He is survived by his Mom, Annette Symmers; brother, Rod Symmers (Louisa); sister, Charmaine Symmers; brother and sister-in-law, Randy Symmers and Chantel Souliere; nephews, Ryan and Connor Symmers; nieces, Callie and Lydia Symmers; along with all his special cousins.
Annette lost her son and her rock. She will miss the dinners, the constant, “Are you ok Mom?”, talking politics, coffee trips, game shows, and lottery purchases. She is forever grateful to him for ensuring she was in a beautiful home close to her grandchildren.
Rod is reminded in little ways every day that Todd was a blessing in his life. He will cherish the motorbike rides throughout Key West, hiking in B.C., and the many occasions with his girls.
Charmaine lost her brother as well as her best friend. She will miss analyzing life, griping at him as he laughs in return, the car inspections every time she got out of the car, the bike rides, morning funny texts, and the senior hour restaurant trips.
Time spent with Todd meant everything to Randy – something there never was enough of. Truck rides, all things Rock (at an early age), volleyball, and sports with relatives – memories made to last a lifetime.
Todd adored and appreciated his sister-in-law, Chantel and she will miss discussing the intricacies of the birthday banana cake with him every year.
Todd was a mentor and role model to his nephews, Ryan and Connor, and was always amazed by their keen wit. Uncle Todd loved every minute in the pool throwing them in the air, the bike rides, birthday celebrations, funny cards, FaceTime calls, skating, and the outdoor hockey games.
To his nieces, Callie and Lydia, he loved the fires, the BBQs, and making sure you did not go without for back-to-school fashion. Seeing you all smile was what made him full. He was proud to be your Uncle!
Quiet, content, yet unassuming, a commanding pillar of strength much like his Dad. Humility was one of his greatest assets. Todd was a private person but, to those close to him, you were his family and that meant everything to him. His selflessness was immeasurable even if that meant going without so you would not. He was a gentle soul who enjoyed the simple things in life. Content in his comfort zone, we were happy just to be sharing the space with him. He gave so much but, all we wanted was his company, his presence, and his humour. If he was in the room, we were laughing. You could not be around him without him making some funny comment that would crack everyone up and we are cherishing all his silly “Todd-isms” now.
Todd, we love you, and you are gone too soon but, we know that your destiny on this Earth was fulfilled. Our family is broken but, we will live every day following your example.
One of the results of his sudden passing was an enlarged heart. This does not come as a surprise to his family. We already knew he had a huge heart.
A get-together will be held in memory of Todd at a future date.
Book of Condolences
Charmaine SymmersWell Todd. I am broken. I am sure you are finding it humorous that I am compelled to make a public declaration of how great of a brother you were and how painful it is now. I don’t really know how to live without you. After all the things we would laugh about and now look who is left behind. Every plan for the future was to pay you back for all that you had given to me and our family throughout our lives. Thanks for putting up with me and being such a great friend. Most of all thanks for “getting me” and laughing with and at me for 50 years. Lakeshore rides will never be the same. Or the search for the best restaurants. I will miss you forever. Love you and miss you. Charmaine
Adeeb Somiwhat a sad year … what a shock !!
We lost a wonderful guy … we work together for over 17 years …. he always came with great attitude, very polite and with smile …. he was a man of manners.
I’m writing here on behalf of so many other people who worked with and knew Todd … “buddy” , as he always used to call his friends, we will all miss you very much.
To his family and friends, please accept my sincere condolences.
Michael RigazziTo one of the most beautiful people I have had the privilege of meeting in my life. Todd, you are a gentle man and I will always remember you for your infectious smile, your dedication to work. We shared many laughs together and I will always cherish the time we spent together at work. Although it was a short time, I feel like I have known you forever.
This world deserves more people like you. You were friendly with everyone, and never had the need to judge. You were a gentle soul and I will truly miss you. I know you will watch over your family.
Peace,
Michael ( Riggs )
