Obituary
Marion Sadie Delaney
North Sydney
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister and grandmother, Marion Sadie Delaney, on Friday, June 4, 2021. Mom was born on July 9,1942 to her parents the late Lucy (Kendall) and Leonard Bonar.
Mom will be dearly missed by her special friends, Gertie and Renee, who never missed an afternoon trip to Tim Hortons, and then to the store to get those scratch tickets. Mom was such a social butterfly; she had a smile and a hello for everyone, and with that it didn’t take much to start up a conversation. In her younger days, mom always talked about working in the coffee pot, she always said they were the good old days doing what she loved best, chatting and making coffee.
Mom is survived by her three children, Brenda Lee Martin, Michelle Delaney, Kevin Delaney and daughter-in-law Nancy. Mom is also survived by her four grandchildren Lindsay Delaney, Kendell Delaney, Megan Martin, and Brooklyn Martin. Mom is further survived by two sisters, Joan Putman and Thelma Bobbitt, and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by our brother, her son Ronnie; her brothers Alphonse “Toddy”, Cecil and Harrison; also, sisters Edna, Frances and Helen.
A private family service for Marion will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Sydney with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Memorial donations in memory of our mom may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
Her thoughts were all so full of us
She never could forget
And so, I think that where she is
She must be watching us yet.
