Obituary of Kathleen Margaret Jess
Kathleen “Kay” Jess (nee Smith), 80 of Halls Harbour, passed away on January 2, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Grand Pre, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Kelly) Smith.
Kathleen loved her family and her flower garden, birds and being outside. She was a hard worker all her life as well as a great housekeeper and cook.

Kathleen is survived by brother Mike (Teresa) Smith; children Don (Melinda) Cooke, Cathy (Stephen) Cruickshank; step-children Tim (Maxine) Jess, Robin (Bill) Breault; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; she will also be remembered by two great friends, Janet Poehl and Catherine Sanford.
Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by her husband Lewis “Bud” Jess; brothers Frank and Gordon Smith.
In keeping with Kathleen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Family only graveside Interment will take place in Hortonville Cemetery at a later date.
