Gary Marshall Young
Young, Gary Marshall – Age 80, Bible Hill. It is with great sadness, the family of Gary Young announces his passing on May 20, 2021 at home with his son by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gary was a son of the late Phyllis Marshall and Charles Young. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Young; son, James “Jamie” Young (Amy Smith),Valley; estranged daughters, Kathryn and Karyn both of Hamilton, ON; two special grandchildren, Joshua and Jayden; brothers, Brian (Linda), Barrie, ON and Randy (Cindy) Chatham, ON.
Gary was predeceased by sisters, Lynn Fournier and Dorothy Tarapasky as well as brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Kent.
Gary spent five years in the RCN (1959-64), at Scotiabank for five years as a loans officer (1965-70), Canada Trust in Stoney Creek, ON as Branch Manager for five years and 21 years with Irving Oil as a Credit Manager. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and “BEATING” his family at cribbage.
Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no funeral service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Truro SPCA or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro.
