Isabel’s Obituary
Isabel Korbo (Volkman) deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend – passed peacefully with loved ones by her side in the early hours of Friday, May 14, 2021. Born October 14, 1936, in Cabri, SK, she moved throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta before her career as a nurse brought her to Coronach, SK. There, in the early 1960s, she met and married Otto Korbo and they started their family together. By their example, generations of her family learned how to show their love and care for one other. Isabel cared fiercely and deeply for her family and was there for anyone who needed her at the drop of a hat, day or night. Her strength, loyalty, and generosity were inspiring to everyone she met. Her sharp wit and sense of humour meant that she was always laughing or making someone laugh. She was a beautiful soul, full of love and kindness, compassion, and patience, and worked hard all her life for everyone around her. “Love each other and everything will be alright.” She is survived by her children, Connie Hiltz (Garth) and family, Darla Wilson (Kevin) and family, Warren Korbo (Michelle) and family, Lisa Shelstead (Mark) and family, Kelly Fairbrother (Kim) and family, sisters Marion Bender, and Marjory Krein and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Otto Korbo, and her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Volkman. A Celebration of Isabel’s Life will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with interment at Rosedale Cemetery, on May 22, 2021. Donations in her memory can be made to Marcie’s Personal Care Home, 1301 Princess Cres, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 6V7. In living memory of Isabel, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
