Obituary
With the heaviest of hearts we announce the sudden passing of Garry Manweiler on May 8, 2021 at the age of 81.
He is survived and remembered by his wife Marlene (Plant) Manweiler and his four children; Alvin Manweiler, Gloria McMullen (Kevin McMullen), Chris Manweiler (Crystal Kotz) and Jeanne Diment (Tim).
His 5 grandchildren; Nicole McDonald (Danny), Carrie Irwin (Jesse), Jace Manweiler, Kailyn Manweiler and Jacob Diment.
He also had 4 great grandchildren; Kyla and Khloe Irwin, and Beau and Chailey McDonald.
Garry was born August 29, 1939 to Jacob and Katherine (Metz) Manweiler in Russell, MB they resided in Dropmore, MB. He was the youngest of 6 children. The Manweiler family moved to the farm in Grandview in 1940 and he later attended Ottawa School.
Garry took over the family farm and married Marlene Plant on July 4, 1964. Garry and Marlene had a mixed grain farm with cattle, pigs, chickens and their over sized garden. Garry and Marlene resided in their farm for 48 years, where many happy times and memories were made. Garry and Marlene moved into town in 2011 and Alvin took over the family farm. Garry also kept busy as he was the president of the Lutheran Church since 1982.
Garry enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Should friends so desire donations can be made in memory of Garry to the Lutheran Hour Ministries or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Due to COVID restriction a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Rest In Peace, we love you, “see you in the funny papers”. We will never forget you.
