In his early life he grew up at Mileage 19 & 22 situated outside Kapuskasing, Ontario. He was raised by his grandparents after his mother passed when he was at the tender age of 7 years old. After attending St. Anne Residential school, he later worked on the railroad at Smokey Falls. In the early 70’s after attending Conestoga College in Kitchener-Waterloo and graduating from the Chef Program (known today as Culinary Arts), he worked as Cook/Chef at St. Anne School in Fort Albany and later at Fort Albany General Hospital. His working career also took him across northern Ontario as a prospector and tree planting foreman for a few years. Beyond retirement, his meals and his cooking during the holidays and events were admired and appreciated by his family and friends, which his life revolved around. He loved his family so much and his family loved him. Dad will be remembered for his kindness, patience, compassion and love for everyone he knew. There are so many beautiful memories to be cherished in our hearts.
