John Postma
1925-2021
At Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Saturday, May
8, 2021 of John Postma of Summerset Manor and formally of Newton, aged
96 years. Born in Dronrijp, Friesland, Netherland, February
4, 1925. Beloved husband of the late Gertruda (Mulder)
Postma. Proud father of John (Joanne); Bernard
“Butch” (Margot); Raymond (Nancy); Peter (Monica); Robert
(Jane); Charlie; Martin (Barb); George (Lori Ellis); and Sylvia (Kent)
Stavert. Cherished “Pake” of 23 grandchildren and
18 great-grandchildren. Survived by his brothers Gerrit
(Geneieve) Postma and Lodewijk (Adrie) Postma. Predeceased
by his parents Johannes and Regina (Polder) Postma, his six sisters,
and his four brothers. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home,
Kinkora. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family
visitation will be held. Funeral will take place on Friday,
May 14 at 1:30 pm at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora, followed
by interment in St. Malachy’s Parish Cemetery; by invitation
only. Memorial donations may be made to St.
Malachy’s Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice would be
greatly appreciated. Please refrain from wearing scent due
to allergies.
