SMITH, Frances Pearl
1927 – 2021
It is with sadness that her family announces the passing of Frances Smith at Grace Village on Friday, May 7. Frances was the daughter of the late Albert Smith and the late Eva Nutbrown, and widow of Robert Smith. Frances was predeceased by her brother Gordon (Mildred) and Dorothy. She is survived by close family Wayne Nutbrown (Louise), Edna Stewart and Lucy Kinghorn, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Special thanks to Dr Ferenczi, Dr Provencher and the oncology department, Dr Robb and Dr Frazer, and also to Grace Village for the care Frances received. The family is very grateful to Louise Nutbrown and Patricia Robinson for the many hours spent with Frances during her illness and covid challenge.
Frances graduated from Bishops University and went onto teaching before she was married. She volunteered at Lennoxville Community Aid for many years. Frances was well known for the love she had for quilting, gardening, and baking…mmmm her peanut butter pie! She was a devout member of the Lennoxville United Church. Frances also enjoyed cards, traveling, family gatherings, bowling ( both carpet and small ball) and a good fiddle tune.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Village, c/o resident support.
Due to the restrictions for Covid, a private service will be held by invitation only.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of SMITH Frances Pearl 1927 2021..
Death notice for the town of: Sherbrooke, Province: Quebec
We’re so sorry to hear of Francis’ passing. We will miss her greatly. Kingsley Austin Smith, our dad, would take us from VT to Canada once a year to see his extended family. Francis was top of the list! The borders are opening August 9th, 2021. We all made sure to get enhanced drivers licenses so we could get up there. We knew she was ill and hoped to see her at least one more time. Her phone number didn’t go through when we called today. So I looked online, hoping I wouldn’t find anything. Edna’s phone didn’t pick up either. I’m glad my kids got to meet her a few years ago when we were up. May she rest in peace.
