Eugene Clarence Cooke
1939-2021
The passing of Eugene Clarence Cooke, husband of Thelma
(French) Cooke occurred unexpectedly at his residence in Back Bay NB
on May 9, 2021. Born in Back Bay NB on May 5, 1939, he was a son of
the late Clarence and Ethel (Doucette) Cooke. A loving husband,
father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Eugene will be sadly missed
by his wife: Thelma Cooke of Back Bay NB; one son: Tony Cooke
(Melissa) of L’Etang NB; one daughter: Karen Deveau (David) of
Pocologan NB; his grandchildren: Amanda Leeman (Jeremy Ellis) of
Moncton NB, Chelsea Leeman (Corey Borthwick) of Second Falls NB and
Marissa Cooke (Derek Bowman) of Bonny River NB; four
great-grandchildren: Peyton, Paisley, Lennon and Weston; and several
nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Eugene was
predeceased by one grandson: Braden Cooke; one brother: Elmer Cooke:
and by one sister: Mary Avery.
During his career, Eugene worked in several different sectors
but truly found his passion working on the water. An avid outdoorsman
he loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed tending his weir. Eugene was
a sports fan who especially loved baseball and could be found cheering
on the Blue Jays any chance he had. In his spare time, he was often
outside tinkering with his old truck. Though he is gone, he will be
loved and remembered by his family always.
