Peter Gruber 19652021

Peter Gruber
1965-2021
Peter Hans Gruber of Cambridge,
ON December 15, 1965 to May 6, 2021
Our hearts are broken and we weep at the loss of our husband,
father, son, brother, friend and one of the most incredible human
beings that a person could be blessed to know
Peter was born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 15, 1965 to
Rosmarie and Oswald (d. 1997)
Big brother, life long friend, partner in shenanigans and
fierce protector of Robert
Peter and Diane met in their early teen years, had their
first date April 1984 and married August 1987
Peter was son-in-law to Delmar and Lorna (d. 2004),
brother-in-law and uncle to Diane’s extended
family
Peter was a great Dad and was incredibly proud of his
children and the wonderful people that they have grown to
become. He will be desperately missed by Braeden, Bethany
and Bailey.
Never to be forgotten by Eric Sowa, who has been a blessing
to us from the time he was first introduced
Longtime friend and fellow mischief maker with Patrick
Serafini and Scott Collins
A quiet, sincere, hard working man, Peter was trained as a
Millwright Industrial Mechanic. He was so much like his
father Ossie and could fix just about anything that was broke, many
referred to him as “MacGruber”. He collected so
many wonderful, caring friends and colleagues at companies such as
Dafoe, Weyerhaeuser, Monarch, CibaVision and Septodont. He
was a friend and mentor to many and will be sadly missed by those that
he worked along side throughout his career. A special shout
out to the weekend crew and team members that are too numerous to
mention here. Know that you were an important part of
Peter’s world.
A lifelong Hamilton Tiger Cat’s fan and season
ticket holder for 30 years, he was excited to have moved his seats to
the 50-yard line at Tim Horton’s Field and had secured his
tickets to the 2021 Grey Cup in Hamilton long ago. A
passionate supporter of CFL Football, he had his name engraved on the
CFL Fan Base to financially support the league during the Covid
shutdown. A hearty farewell Oskee Wee Wee to Peter, quietly
reffing the games and making the calls from the stands.
Due to Covid restrictions a private visitation at
Corbett’s Funeral Home will be held on Monday evening A
private funeral service will take place at 11am on Tuesday May 11,
presided over by the Reverend E. Stephen Weber of St Paul’s
Lutheran Church in Cambridge. A zoom link will be made
available for those who wish to join the service online :us02web.zoom.us/j/86996021061?pwd=WlpzNUV1cG16dFhBZjZmblpXZExsUT09
Meeting ID: 869 9602 1061
Passcode: 350902
If you would like to honour Peter, please support a local
minor sports team or an economically disadvantaged youth
player. Go to a game, watch CFL football on TV, support
local, do whatever inspires you and that feels like the right thing to
do. He was taken from us all far too soon.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Peter Gruber 19652021..
