Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Friday, May 7, 2021, Donald passed away at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Carol Sitter. Loving father of Kelly Hallett (Dell), Kris Hunt (Peter), and Stephen (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Robert, Kathryn, Nicole, Angela, Matthew and Chelsea and great-grandfather of five. Predeceased by his parents Herman and Orpha Sitter and by his siblings Earl, Marjorie and Robert (Bob). Donald was a well-respected mechanic in the Sarnia area and worked at Park Lane Motors for 40 years. He was an avid and accomplished woodworker and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and auto racing. Donald was a loving husband, father and devoted poppa. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for Dad during his final days, with a special thank you to nurse Lisa Walter. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Donald and Carol’s lives will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, VON, Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton, or the charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
