Derek Eugene Codner 1945 2021

Obituary of Derek Eugene Codner
Derek Eugene Codner, 75 of Dartmouth (formerly of St. Catharines, ON) passed away on May 4, 2021 in the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Dar was a man of many talents. He knew how to make an excellent grilled cheese sandwich, give advice on autobody repair, plumbing, cooking, baking — you name it. He liked Coca Cola, Rickard’s Red, chinese food, East-Enders, Coronation Street and his other “soaps”. He was a knowledgeable sports fan, especially of the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. He cracked corny jokes and told them with his hearty laugh. He enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days in St. Catharines and Newfoundland.
He was the port in a storm for many and his door was always open, ready to console anyone in need. Dar was a true gentleman and left this planet the way he lived, uncomplaining, with grace and dignity. He was kind, generous, loving and well loved.
He is predeceased by his parents Eugene and Laura (Eustace) and his niece Robin White Holmes.
Survived by his sisters Ann White (David, deceased), Jude Radunsky (Fred), Tricia (Harrison, deceased), nieces Kathleen de la Cruz (husband Artorix, son: Alex), Carey Nichols Morris (husband Blain, children: Judith, Rebecca and Finley), Susan White (children: David and Stacey), Zachary Holmes.
Please raise a glass of cheer and share a funny story in honour of Dar — He would like that.
