Obituary
With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Ervin Morran on April 30, 2021 at the age of 76.
He is survived and remembered lovingly by his wife Margaret (Maggie), his three children Eldean (Craig) Clow, Vincent (Patricia) Morran, and Janean (Lanny) McInnes, his three grandchildren Allen Clow (Crystal), Alia and Reid McInnes and his great grandchildren Madison and Hunter Clow.
Ervin is also survived by his sister Lynne (Garry) Steiner, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mervin and Sandra Melnychenko, Sister-in law Lorna Morran, and Mother-in-law Lena Melnychenko as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Ervin was born May 29, 1944 to Gladys and Al Morran. He was eldest of five children and grew up on the family farm, farming for many years alongside his father. Winters were spent logging, and he later joined his cousins driving gravel truck for Stirling Enterprise, being the “shovel supervisor” of the younger ones.
Ervin married Margaret Melnychenko in October 1966 in Grandview. During their 54 years together, many happy times were spent and memories made. Friends called him Haywire and he enjoyed baseball, curling, fishing and had many hunting stories to share. He loved road touring in his truck or quad and he was a great navigator. Many summers were spent camping in the Duck Mountains and more recently camping with his grandkids near Gimli. The great grandkid visits helped lift spirits during this last year.
Ervin was predeceased by his parents Al and Gladys, brothers Larry, David, sister Darla and Father-in-law Bill Melnychenko.
While we will mourn his passing, we smile knowing he is now with others as they watch over us all.
Rest in Peace, we love you – you will never be forgotten.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Ervin may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Grandview Community Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 11:00 am from The Grandview Kinsmen Community Centre in Grandview, MB. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens & District Cemetery in Grandview, MB.
