Obituary
Harris, Elaine. It is with deep sadness that the family of Elaine Ann Harris (nee Wodham) announces her sudden passing. Predeceased by her husband Cec, and grandson Brady, Elaine will be lovingly missed by daughters Tracy (Don) Taylor and Sue (Jim) Caley, along with Brad (Melissa) Taylor, Katie (Matt) Barker and Josh Caley (Melissa Belair).
Elaine was a loving GG to 8 great grandchildren. After growing up near Aylmer, Elaine and Cec lived most of their married life in Dundas and Elaine taught elementary school in Hamilton. They loved spending their summers camping in Southampton, and later built their family cottage which became their permanent home after retirement. Elaine’s zest for life and spontaneity were her trademark. A firm believer in living every moment, she was always up for some fun; she was an amazing cook, loved to entertain and accepted any invitation offered (especially those from her lifelong friend and “sister” Kay Gee). Elaine was an avid reader and enjoyed travel and wintering in Florida. She was an accomplished golfer who enjoyed many years golfing with dear friends at Saugeen Golf Club. A very strong, independent woman, Elaine loved and cared for her family deeply and she will be greatly missed.
Elaine’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elaine Harris November 20 1935 – January 4 2021 Age 85..
