McNEILL: Ernest Roderick “Rod” –
A resident of Chatham, Rod McNeill passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the age of 71.
Born in Chatham, Rod was the son of the late Bill and Ruth (Sutherland) McNeill.
Beloved husband to the late Sharon Smith (nee Sherrah) (2013).
Loving father of Erin Smith (Stacy Houle), Belinda Pardo (Russell), Amber Cunningham (Mark), Kim Laliberte and Susan Emerson.
Grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
Brother to David McNeill (Diane) and the late Susan Edwards (Gary).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Predeceased by his canine companion Cleo.
Rod will be remembered as a lover of nature, animals and good cooking. He had a very genuine nature and will be missed.
As per Rod’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Rod to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Pet and Wildlife Rescue or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
