In loving memory of Mrs. Yvonne Gelinas who passed away at the Temiskaming Lodge on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the age of 84.
Yvonne Marie Gelinas (nee Charland), beloved wife of Rheal Gelinas, now rests in peace. She was the cherished mother of Ron (Heather James) and grandmother of Annick. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters: Jeannine Hetherington (John) and Helena Rivard (Jean-Paul); her brothers Julien (Jeanne d’Arc), Normand (Dina), Marcel (Pauline) and Fortunat (Bonnie). Also remembered by Leo Gelinas (Rachel) and Aurel Gelinas; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters: Lucille Scott (Bob), Irene Ethier-Legault (Victor), and Emma Boudrias (Maurice).
Yvonne was raised on a farm in Thornloe and lived her entire life in the Temiskaming area, close to her roots. She was the youngest sister in a family of ten children. Married at 22, she was a loving wife and partner to Rheal for 61 years. Yvonne enjoyed travel, fashion and was admired as a talented artist. She was known for her resolve, strength and generosity. Family was all-important to her and she dedicated her life to making a wonderful home. She will most of all be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial will be held at a later date when a gathering is possible.
If desired donation to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
