Obituary
Mum lived a full and exciting 98 years. Born in London, England, May 25, 1922, she passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario on October 23, 2020.
During World War II, she served for five years with the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force where she met Edward, (2008), her husband of 64 years, a pilot with the Special Duty Operations Squadron. Yvonne emigrated to Canada as a war bride, settling in Toronto and eventually she and dad retired to Hepworth, Ontario. Proud mother to Ted (Valerie), Colleen (Don), Michael (Suzanne) and Peter (Carol). Devoted and cherished nana to Michelle, Scott and the late Jennifer Palmer; Amanda and Ian Black; Jeremy, Zachary and the late Geoffrey Palmer; and, David, Andrew and Russell Palmer. Loving gran-nana to Evan Palmer; Christian, Eric and Marcus Lapner; Harper and Hudson Black; Amina and Lucas Palmer; and, Cooper and Charlotte Palmer. She is survived by her brother, Ralph Hillier (Beatrice), and nephews Mark, David and the late Steven, of Denmark, Australia; and, by her niece, Elizabeth Roberts, of Lantzville, British Columbia. A family service will be conducted at the National Military Cemetery in Ottawa. If so desired, a memorial contribution to the Canadian Diabetic Society would be appreciated.
