Bunny lost her courageous battle with cancer July 22, 2020 at the age of 85 years young.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Roy. Sadly missed by son Kevin, daughter in law Elizabeth, son Jeffrey and daughter Susan, son in law Kevin. Cherished grandmother of Cassandra (Gary), Jessie (Justin) and Jordan and great granddaughter Rory. Predeceased by her parents Mark and Victoria Gardner and brothers Lorne (Helen) Ivan (Joyce).
Bunny Attended Clinton business school in 1952. After graduating she worked in Waterloo for an insurance company for a short period of time. Missing her hometown of Wingham, Bunny returned home, where she worked at Shervondy’s Cafe. It was there she met the love of her life. This handsome Dutchman would come in for coffee everyday until he finally got up the nerve to ask this beautiful young waitress for a date. Bunny and Roy married in September 1954. They moved to Sudbury in 1958 with their first baby in tow (Kevin). Three years later they had another baby boy (Jeffrey) and 5 years after that daughter (Susan). Bunny was a secretary at Laurentian University for many years and was secretary at St. Mark’s church. She was very dedicated to her church St. Peter’s and was a member of the UCW for 50 years. Bunny’s greatest love besides her family was their little piece of heaven on Lake Penage. There wasn’t a weekend that didn’t go by that they were not at camp, after retirement they would be the first campers out in the summer and the last to come in, in the fall. Bunny was the epitome of an angel on earth, she was the kindest, most caring, trusting, and selfless woman. Her greatest pride in life were her children, grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Bunny’s favourite quote is “Together is my favourite place to be”. We will always be together Mom, forever in our hearts! Special thank you to Dr.Asai, 7th and 4th floor nursing staff .
