Ymkje Ymie de Boer 1933 2020

OBITUARIES
Ymkje (Ymie) de Boer
1933 – 2020
Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our mother, our Oma, our sister, our aunt, and Omie. On January 23rd, 2020, Ymkje (Ymie) de Boer sadly passed away. Left to treasure her life and memories are her four daughters and their families; Cindy & Vic (Jay, Josh, Victor, Katie, Tucker, Wyatt, Beau, Tessa, Tommy, Chase), Sherry & Rob (Jesse, Marie, Connor, Kairi, Dalaney, Chad, Ava, Leah, Cole, Mason, Branden, Kaitlyn, Celine, Cynthia, Ben), Debbie & John (Harrison, Rose, Jan), Kristie & Dave (Holly, Calvin, Bradley).
Ymie treasured every moment she spent with her 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, with another great grandchild due in July. She loved and adored her grandkids and great grandkids, and always had suckers, and various types of snacks ready for them. She took great pride in her family, near and far away. She always had love to give.
She also leaves behind her siblings in the Netherlands; Roel, Klaas, Jan, Hennie, and their families. Ymie was fortunate enough to join very special family members Ineke and Harry Busscher to Holland to visit her family in September of 2009 on the trip of a lifetime. She created memories that stayed within her and her family’s hearts and will stay with them forevermore.
Ymie immigrated to Canada in 1959, and resided in East Kildonan with her husband Albert, who pre-deceased her in 2004. Ymie always had a cup of tea in her hand, ready to chat about current events, or reminisce about the days of old. She loved reading, watching golf, NCIS, and going to the shops, which she was chauffeured by her kids and grandkids who could drive. She always knew a lunch or supper of fish & chips or KFC (her favorite foods) were not far off when she was out and about.
We would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at Concordia Hospital Urgent Care, and the Doctors and Staff at St. Boniface Hospital ACCU, and her GP, Dr. Ormiston at Transcona Medical Clinic for all the care and support they provided.
Please join us in a Celebration of Ymie’s life, Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Transcona Memorial Church at 209 Yale Avenue East, Winnipeg, MB.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ymkje Ymie de Boer 1933 2020..
