Winston Lee Budd May 1 1936 January 2 2020 (age 83)

Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Winston Lee Budd on January 2, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Westmorland County, NB on May 1, 1936 to the late Wilfred and Annie (Randall) Budd and was the loving husband of 58 years to wife, Wanda (Berry) Budd.
Winston was a firefighter with CNR for 6 years before he started working as an Operator at the Irving Oil Refinery, a career which he stayed at for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Fundamental Baptist Church and carried that faith into his daily life. Winston regularly attended Toastmasters, even though he was a very quiet man. He loved anything with a motor that could go fast – motorcycles, snowmobiles, race cars at the Geary racetrack – if it had something under the hood, he was into it, and if he could drive it fast himself, even better. He loved farming and using the big machines, but he also enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardens. Winston and Wanda traveled the world together following his retirement and Winston was able to go on a Holy Land trip to Jerusalem which was a highlight of his life. He loved food. He could cook, but he preferred to eat out. Winston was a story teller who liked to tell jokes. He loved to golf and hunt and fish, but above all, he was a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. Papa, as his grandchildren called him, was one of a kind and devoted to them. He created a lot of lasting memories throughout his life and will be deeply missed but always fondly remembered.
In addition to his wife Wanda, he is survived by his daughter, Tara (Michael) Green; grandsons, Coleman and Connor Green; siblings, Clarence, Cecil, Curtis, Gwen and Kitty (Doug); along with several nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. Along with his parents and many siblings he was predeceased by his loving son, Shawn Budd.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 1pm. Interment will take place in Gladeside Cemetery in Moncton at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations in Winston’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Fundamental Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
