Hodgson, Wilmer Stanley
“Bill” Age 94 of Country Harbour,
Guysborough County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1,
2020, with family by his side, in St. Mary’s Memorial
Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born in Country Harbour, he was a son of the
late Murray and Helen (McLaren) Hodgson. Bill was a business owner
focusing on forestry, Christmas trees and pallets. Dad enjoyed
watching wrestling; having family come for visits and taking road
trips with them; daily visiting with friends around the community.
Bill was always a FORD man. He had a great love for his children and
all his grandchildren. We can’t forget his cats and his
friend, Buddy the dog. Dad was a kind and caring person who
didn’t have a mean bone in his body. Bill is survived by
sons, Garnet (Betty) Fenton, Arnold Fenton, Marshall Hodgson;
daughters, Theresa “Honey” Beiswanger, Juanita
(Danny) Fraser, Samantha (Trent) Dort; grandchildren, Jacqueline
Smith, Marsha Barron, Stacey Barnes, Leanne Beiswanger, Christopher
Smith, Travis Fitzmorris, Madison Dort, Dawson Dort;
great-grandchildren, Luke, Brooke, Brittany, Spencer, MacKenzie,
Hunter, Nash, Tyler, Nate; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Noah,
Maxim; many nephews, nieces and their families. He was
predeceased by his wife, Mamie (Hudson); daughters, Garnita Walsh,
Marie in infancy; brother, Marshall and sister, Florence Jones.
Social distancing protocols must be followed and masks
are mandatory for the visitation and funeral service. Attendees will
be asked to provide their name and phone number.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 6- 9 p.m. in G.W.
Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour with funeral service Monday at 2
p.m. in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Country Harbour with Rev. Sue
Channen officiating. Burial to follow in Holy Trinity Anglican
Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Bill’s
memory may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Funeral
arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.
