Obituary of Wilma Mae Hathaway
HATHAWAY: Wilma M. (nee Frederick) –
A resident of Blenheim, and formerly of Kent Bridge, Wilma Hathaway passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the age of 94.
Born in London ON, Wilma was the daughter of the late James and Ida (Shelley) Frederick.
Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Russell L. Hathaway (2003).
Loving mother of the late Fred Hathaway (Jackie) of Ridgetown, Frank Hathaway (Linda) of Thamesville, the late Gerald Hathaway, Bill Hathaway of Ridgetown and Mary Ellen Van Zelst (Andy) of Kent Bridge.
Proud Grandma of 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Dear sister to Jim Frederick (late Bernice) of London.
Predeceased by her sister-in-law and good friend Joyce McFarlene (Neil).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Family was very important to Wilma. Not only did she raise her children, but together with Russell they opened their home to several foster children.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, FEBRUARY 8, 2020 from 12:30 pm until the Celebration of Wilma’s Life at 1:30 pm. Interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Wilma to the Canadian Cancer Society or Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
