Chard, William “Raymond”
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Ottawa at the age of 85.
Predeceased by his wife Mildred “Midge” House of Bellburns, Newfoundland. Loving dad to Jeffrey, Chuck (Lucie) and adoring grandfather to Andrew, Angie, Justin, Rachel, Matthew and great-grandfather to William.
He will be fondly remembered for his love to laugh, family gatherings, passion for fitness, avid jogger and running in the National Capital Marathons. He was born and raised in Victoria B.C., son of Rachel Annie Chard (nee ton) and Henry William Chard, World War II veteran. Raymond was an electronics technician for the National Defense Naval Service at Her Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard in Esquimalt B.C. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sir George Williams University in Montreal and retired from a long career with the Federal Government.
A private service will be held for the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place, ON, graveside service to follow at Munster Union Cemetery, Munster, ON.
Many thanks to the Ottawa Heart Institute for extending his life to the fullest.
