William L. (Billy) Sleaver
1957-2020
Our beloved Billy was taken from us too soon. He
passed away in the arms of his soul mate, June Hanson on Tuesday,
April 7, 2020 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital. Our
sunshine died suddenly following complications with stomach cancer,
which had only been diagnosed 5 days prior. Born in Halifax, he was
the son of the Late Lloyd and Josephine (Wilson)
Sleaver.
Billy always had a smile with dimples, laughed and had a
helping hand for everyone he knew. His happy quick wit,
spirit and humor were infectious. His whole purpose in life
was to make others happy, especially June, whom he was so proud and
happy to have refound after 25 years apart. All his life he
was a lover of animals especially his German Shepherds and Rotties as
well as his cats; Penelope and Cruz (Co co).
He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him and
especially those who loved him.
Never forgotten and always loved by June Hanson, step sons
Sean Hanson, Ryan Hanson (Sarah), step daughter Christina Jardine
(Brad); sister Carolyn Vicari (Mark), brother Bobby Sleaver (Kelly),
grandchildren Niko Hanson, mother in law Marg Hubley, nieces and
nephews, MacKenzie Vicari (Cami), Jaeger Vicari, Ryan Sleaver
(Ashley), Brett Sleaver (Jennifer), step nieces and nephews Morgan
(Sam), Kaelyn, grand nephew Wyatt, step grand niece Addison Jardine,
brother and sister in laws Cheryl, Keith, Todd and Holly and his work
family at Downey Home Hardware in Riverview as well as several good
friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister
in law Laura Sleaver (Sowerby).
If you were a friend of Bill’s, it was for
life. No one knew that better than his life long best
friend, Jamie Hamilton. He lives on in our memories and
stories.
Due to the current Covid restrictions, a celebration of
Billy’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).
