It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the death of William Harris, who at the age of 82 years, passed away November 13, 2020, in Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac Nursing Home with his loving wife of 59 years by his side. He was born April 5, 1938 to the late John and Clothilde (Ivy) Harris in Cheticamp N.S. He spent his career as a long haul truck driver with various companies and loved to watch his Montreal Canadiens team play hockey and enjoyed playing cards as a member of the Mavillette Seniors’ Club.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; sons, Brian (Janice) and Kevin (Mary); as well as two special grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Joshua. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Louise (Henry) Desveaux; and several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Angele, Regine (Alphée); brothers-in-law, Victor (Beverly) and Hubert (Sharon).
He is predeceased by a special nephew, Joseph Charles Chiasson; siblings, Marie (infancy), Marie Louise (three years old), Tommy (10 months), Eveline, Lucie Anne, Germaine, Marie Cecile, Patrick, Joseph, Tommy, Agnes and Dora Mae.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Meteghan Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at a later date in St. Alphonse Church with interment to follow in St. Alphonse Cemetery, St. Alphonse. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice. A special heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac Nursing Home.
