William (Bill) Henry Goggin
March 16, 1931 – September 05, 2020
On Saturday, September 5, 2020, William (Bill) Henry Goggin, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at the age of 89. Following a long battle with Dementia and Cancer, Bill passed peacefully, with his daughter by his side in the care of Post Inn Village, Oakville.
Bill was born on March 16, 1931, in Montreal Quebec. His family moved shortly there after to Toronto where Bill was a graduate of Malvern Collegiate and the University of Toronto. Bill served for a short time in the Canadian Armed Forces, and then followed his career into the world of printing. Bill was an employee of Silverwoods, Readers Digest, the Toronto star, and finally as Senior Executive and Vice President with Newsweb, Personal Cheque Printers and Davis & Henderson Intercheques before retiring. Always the dedicated professional, Bill came out of retirement and helped restructure two additional printing companies to become successful Enterprises.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Jean, and sisters Patricia Hyde and Barbara Brynaert. Bill and Jean were married over 55 years and shared a passion for travel and life on the open waters. Bill’s passion for woodworking and cruising lead him into a hobby of rebuilding wooden boats. Bill was also a strong supporter of the Irish Dance Community where he loved to enjoy Irish music, dance and all the social aspects that came with it. Bill was proud of his families connection to the Royal Canadian Air Force and watching his daughter follow in his foot steps.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Paul Nesbitt) and Barbara (Scott Wade). Bill is lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren, MacKenzie and Callaghan Wade; Barbara, Matthew and Charlotte Nesbitt; and his great granddaughter Aubree Boot; and niece and nephews Marken, Matthew and Angela Brynaert.
The family will be holding a private service with cremation to follow. If desired, donations to the Acclaim Health New Dementia Care Centre would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
Finally, thank you to the amazing staff at Post Inn Village for their outstanding care and compassion for Bill. A heartfelt thank you to Natalie, Mercedes and Marina for their kind attention to Bill in the past two years.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of William Bill Henry Goggin March 16 1931 September 05 2020..
