La célébration de
William “Bill” Gee
21 décembre 1933 –
16 juillet 2020
After a courageous journey with leukaemia, Bill passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16th at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Bill will be sorely missed by his wife, Joan, and children, Janice (Ray), Margo (Frank) and Bruce (Dana), and remembered by their mother, Judy. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jillian (Aidan), Danielle (Jeff), and Melanie; Natalie (Eugene), Chris, and Robin; Sydney, Jackson, and Matthew as well as great grandchildren, Georgia, Sadie, and Owen. Bill will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Murray (Sharon) and his sister-in-law, Mary (Kevin) and their families, as well as his many friends both here and south of the border.
He will be remembered by all who knew him for his boundless energy, determination, and enthusiasm he brought to all aspects of his life. It has been said that Bill displayed a “Joie de vivre” in all that he did. His life was very much a life well-lived.
Bill was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. After graduating from Queen’s University in 1956 as a Chemical Engineer, Bill began his career with Rinshed Mason (later Inmont Co.) in Windsor. He moved to Toronto in 1966 to continue his sales career at Inmont. Later, he worked for Valspar Canada where he retired at age 72 as the International Sales Manager of Manufacturing and Marketing. He greatly enjoyed the challenge, the people contacts and the competitive aspect of his job. He always said it was fun!
Soon after retiring, Bill embarked on a new work experience in an entirely different field. He served on a part-time basis for the Ontario Review Board as a public member until the age of 85. Another job he very much enjoyed!
He was a long-standing member of the Boulevard Club and an avid tennis player, enjoying the friendships he made and competing in numerous tournaments locally, nationally, and internationally. Since 1999, Bill and Joan spent many winters at the Vineyards community in Naples, Florida where he had time to continue working on his tennis game as well as serve on the Board of their community for many years. He and Joan also enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Princess Margaret for their kindness and dedicated care.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. If so desired, dona-tions may be made to the Lymphoma and Leukaemia Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
