William’s Obituary
Rhyno, William Aubrey- Lockeport; It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our brother Bill. Born September 17, 1950, he was a son of the late Robert and Arieta (Williams) Rhyno. Bill, in his younger years, worked as a seasonal fisherman. In 1976 he completed a cooking apprenticeship program. He enjoyed trout fishing and rabbit hunting. He could entertain you with a tune on his harmonica (he loved Dylan), or one of his many card tricks. He was known to shoot a mean game of pool as well. At the July 1st. celebrations he was the king on the grease pole. Bill worked for SASI, Beech Street Studio, where for ten years he flourished under the loving supervision of Deena Harlow. There he performed a multitude of tasks which included cooking on the barbeque, cleaning, rug weaving, making survey stakes, gathering brush and making wreaths or setting up for the Lockeport Market. On numerous occasions he was awarded “Employee of the Month”. He enjoyed the countless outings she took the group on but especially liked the camp outs and bon fires at her home in Sable River. Bill joined the bowling team and participated in the Nova Scotia Special Olympics where he won both a gold and a silver medal. He looked forward to the times he spent with his family, dinners at Tony’s, family gathering at the homestead known as the “Ridge” or his regular overnights there with Tim. When the kind and generous people, who on a daily basis would buy him a coffee, walk by the steps near the Town Market or the bench on Balish’s corner, they will remember him with heavy hearts. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers David, Keith and Bud. Surviving are his brothers, Tony (Amanda), Todd, Timothy (Paula), his sisters, Sharon Stoddard, Susan (Edwin) Nickerson and Guilda Lloyd (Blair Stuart). A service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Beech Street Studio or charity of choice.
