WILLARD Ruth Elaine nee Palmer December 18 2020

Born 1948 – Died 2020
Early in the morning on Friday, December 18, Ruth Elaine Willard passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 72 years, following a protracted neurological illness.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 51+ years, John (Lorne) Willard; niece Margo Palmer; nephews Jay, Jordan and Jonathan Palmer; sister-in-law Dianne Palmer; and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Stanley Palmer.
Ruth was born in Vancouver to her parents, Maurice and Edna Palmer. Ruth lived her early years on her parents’ ranch near Marsden, Sask. before moving to Edmonton in 1966. She studied at Alberta College before starting work at AGT (now Telus). At Telus she eventually achieved a position as Accounting Supervisor in the Finance area, where she directed and performed investigations into accounting system anomalies.
Ruth was blessed with a sparkling personality. She was a skilled communicator and storyteller, and as a hobby wrote a number of short stories based somewhat on life experiences. She and her husband travelled extensively, with trips to many countries. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and being with friends.
A special “thank you” must go out to Laurie Tate, Ruth’s steadfast and entertaining Companion for her final six years, and to Bayshore HealthCare employees Phyllis, Annabelle, and Virginia for their diligent work with Ruth.
In accordance with Ruth’s preference, no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WIN House.
