Obituary of Wilfred Shaw
Shaw, Wilfred Patrick – 81, of Timberlea passed away peacefully August 9, 2020 at the Abbie J. Lane Memorial Hospital. Wilfred was born on St. Patrick’s Day 1939 in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, to the late James and Netta (Burt) Shaw.
Wilfred was in the Navy serving on the HMCS Bonaventure, he then went on to work construction and later parking cars for events at Exhibition Park. He loved the Toronto Blue Jays, his cat Baby, and his family.
He is survived by children Patsy Vaughan, Tommy (Laura) Shaw, and Mary (Larry) Marriott; Grandchildren Nicole, Brandon (Marcy), Brandi (Steve), Gabriel, Stuart, and Isabella; Great Granddaughter Georgia; brother James (Helen). Wilfred was predeceased by daughters Debbie and Diane; Granddaughter Jo-Jo; brother Thomas (Buddy); sisters Dottie and Janet.
Visitation/Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, August 13th, at J Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A private family burial to follow.
