Wilfred Manson McGuire
1944-2020
Mr. Wilfred Manson McGuire, 75, of North Head, Grand Manan,
NB, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 2, 2020 at the
Grand Manan Hospital. Wilfred was the son of the late Bernard and Anna
(Dow) McGuire.
Wilfred had worked on the MV Grand Manan (the black boat),
the Department of Transport for 20 years, Dutchman Contractors; he was
a member of the North Head Wesleyan Church until it closed in December
of 2016, and then joined the congregation at the Lighthouse Church.
Wilfred was a member of the Grand Manan Fire Department, and also kept
busy with his fire extinguisher business.
Wilfred is survived by his wife Shirley (Tatton) McGuire, of
55 years, three daughters, Selena (Kristen) Leonard, of
Woodward’s Cove, Melanie McGuire of Woodstock, NB, Julie
(Ulrich) Ludwig, of Sus, NB; eight grandchildren; eight great
grandchildren; one sister Diane (Terry) More of McAdam, NB; he will
also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Wilfred is predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Anna (Dow)
McGuire, his son Manson McGuire; granddaughter Kristin Leonard,
grandson Paul Leonard; sisters Bernadine McCullough and Patricia Lee;
brothers Roger and Velman McGuire.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD ON
SUNDAY, JULY 5, 2020 AT 2:00PM FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE
CHURCH.
Interment has taken place in the North Head Community
Cemetery.
