Wilda’s Obituary

Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late William and Stella (Mason) Baxter. Wilda had been a cook with the former James Dinner, Sutherlands River and Alma. She was very proud to be an original vendor, with her best friend, Alice Carrigan, at the New Glasgow Farmer’s Market for 10 plus years selling her baked goods, knitting, jams and pickles at “Memaw’s Table”. Wilda was a persistent lady who worked hard and strongly supported her community. She was very proud of her grandchildren who she dearly loved.
Surviving are children, Kathryn Munroe (Mike Latter), Dominion, Cape Breton; Hugh (Clare) Munroe, Egerton; Stella (Kenny) Trefry, Trenton; Jason (Melissa) Munroe, Regina, Sask.; grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Munroe; Michael Trefry; Seamus, Sadie and Lochlain Munroe; sisters-in-law, Maud Smith, Stewiacke; Margaret (Dick) Chittick, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John; son, Archie; sisters, Elizabeth Baxter and Jessie Dean; sisters-in-law, Janet Hingley and Katie Brennan.
