It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marjorie Ellen White, 96, of Mersey Point announce her peaceful passing at Queens Manor, Liverpool on September 11, 2020 with family at her side.
Born in Moose Harbour on April 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Edith (Doggett) Frelick.
Marjorie was a devoted and patient mother to her large family and a beloved Nanny to her 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Over the years, Mom enjoyed sewing, quilting, ceramics, yard sales and bingo. She and Dad were regulars at local card parties and community suppers for many years. She was always ready for a game of cribbage with family and friends. Mom’s most recent passion was doing jigsaw puzzles having completed hundreds over the years. There was always a puzzle on the table in her room at Queens Manor where staff would often stop by for a chat and to add a couple of pieces to her puzzle. Mom, we will certainly miss your unique sense of humour that always gave us a smile and a chuckle.
Marjorie is survived by her four sons, Dennis (Liz), Moose Harbour; Bruce (Charlene), Mersey Point; Donald (Diane), Moose Harbour; Sherman (Bev), Wellington and her two daughters, Rosalie Croft, Rothesay NB and Carol (Laurie Culhane), Markdale ON; her brother Basil, Belleville ON; daughter-in-law Virginia, Liverpool; sister-in-law Jean Frelick, Dayspring NS and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill), son David, son-in-law Philip Croft; brothers Earl, Wilbert, Douglas, Maurice and sisters Annie, Margaret and Mildred in infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandler’s Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th, 2020 at 11:00 am at Chandler’s Funeral Home, Liverpool NS. A private family interment of her ashes along with those of her beloved husband Bill will be at Zion United Church Cemetery immediately following the service. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Queens Manor or Queens General Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.chandlersfuneral.com
