Obituary of Werner Stenkamp
STENKAMP, Werner Heinrich – Werner passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of the late Paula (2019). Dear father of Bernd Stenkamp (Kathy), Sarnia and Ellen Stenkamp (Jan Diestel), Germany. Loving grandfather of Nick Stenkamp (Lindy) and Kara Henry (Adam). Great-grandfather of Oliver, Logan and Nash. Dear brother of Hermine, Anneliese, Hedwig, Alfons, Hildegard and Heinz. Predeceased by his parents Bernhard & Franziska Stenkamp and his brother Hubert. Family was most important to Werner and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave him great pleasure. Werner & Paula enjoyed travelling throughout Europe and North America, making new friends along the way. Werner was a proud 50 year member of Pipefitter Local 663. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St. Sarnia on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, January 30th at 11 a.m. Private interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may make donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N. Christina St., N7T 5W3 or Bluewater Health Palliative Care, 89 Norman St., N7T 6S3.
