Obituary of Wayne Viita
It is with broken hearts that our family announces Wayne’s passing. A loving and devoted husband of Nancy. A cherished protective father of Kristen and Natasha (Mario). Caring and supportive brother of Myra and much-loved son of Flo and the late Henry (2004). A respected brother-in-law of Sharon Watt, Roy Irwin (Sandra), Cathy Irwin and Larry Irwin (Linda). Special son-in-law of Ilene Irwin. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Wayne touched many lives through several aspects of his life including golf and education. He continues to hold a special place in the hearts of his many friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private family service will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The service will stream live through the Northwood Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/northwoodfuneralhome/. Simply be on the Northwood Funeral Home Facebook home page at the designated time and the video will appear when the service begins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Stem Cell Research at Ottawa General Hospital Foundation or the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund would be greatly appreciated. Our deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Hill and the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic, Dr. Hodgins, and Michelle on the 5th Floor BMT Unit, Dr. Fernando, and the ICU team at the Ottawa General Hospital. A very special thank you to his cousin, Scott, who has been our guardian angel.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Wayne
