Obituary
It is with deep sadness the family of Wayne Howard Bennett, loving husband to Elaine (Phinney) Bennett, announce his passing which occurred at his home on February 11, 2020 after a very short but courageous battle. Born in Advocate Harbour, NS, November 17, 1952, he was the son of the late Howard and Laura (Robinson) Bennett.
He is remembered as a hard working family man who always put his family first and was always willing to help anyone. In his earlier days he loved working in the woods with Scott Paper and enjoyed his hobby farm in Nova Scotia. He was a forklift operator with Strescon and was a member of Local 900, Labourers’ Union.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Robert (Monique) of Baxter’s Corner, Grant Hurley (Tracey) of Amherst, NS, Linnet Martin (Patrick) of Saint John, Lisa Bennett of Saint John, Christine Tanner (Mark) of Nampa, AB, his brothers; Billy (Marilyn) and Larry of St. George, his sisters; Theresa (Charles) Henwood of Halifax, Geneva (Ray) Mazerolle of Quispamsis, Loretta Bennett of Saint John, grandchildren; Natasha, Shaleen, Jonah, Damien, Chace, Haley, Madison, Declan, Jake and Jessica along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Gary, his brothers; Gary, Gerald and Robert, and his sister Rhonda Bennett.
The family will receive relatives and friends to join them at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), during visitation which will be held from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Friday, February 14, 2020. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances made to the NB Lung Association or the Autism Association would be appreciated.
