WASYLNKA, Larry Max
May 3, 1941 — September 23, 2020
It’s with great sadness we must say goodbye to Larry Max Wasylnka (also known as Zeke or Wasy) on September 23, 2020, at the age of 79, after a battle with Vascular Dementia. Born in Vancouver, BC on May 10, 1941, he moved to Revelstoke, BC at a young age and grew up on a farm, 8 miles south of Revelstoke, known as Mt. Cartier. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he was a loving, soft-hearted, and very kind person, liked by all who were lucky enough to know him.
He lived a simple life and loved to golf. He loved to walk the trails of the golf course where he lived, for exercise, and would always find the lost golf balls. Consequently, he had a large collection after 8 years.
Larry lived in Maple Ridge, BC for some 40 years. He worked in banking from many years before changing to construction, building high-rises and houses, before retiring and moving to Kelowna, BC 9 years ago.
He loved to travel to the U.S. especially Las Vegas. He made several driving trips and covered a large area of the west coast.
Larry was predeceased by is 1st wife, Lynda, and his brother Johnny. He is survived by his common-law spouse, Di-Anne; daughters Sarah (Andy) Horner and Julie (Darrell) Wasylnka; as well as grandchildren Makayla & Addison Horner and Nathaniel & Henry Wasylnka. Larry is also survived by his brothers Stephan (Mariette) Wasylnka and Michael Wasylnka; sisters Susan (Gert) Knudsen and Evelyn (Gary) Mitchell; as well as nieces Stacey, Kristy, and Kathy and nephews Jesse, Colin, and Robert.
The family would like to thank Dr. Schriemer and Carol for all their kindness and help during his illness!
With COVID-19 restrictions in place, a private memorial service will be held. However, the family would like to invite all who would like to pay their respects to join by Livestream on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm (see below).
