Obituary for
Walter Starko
On January 29, 2020, Walter Starko of Lamont, AB, passed away, nineteen days shy of his 97th birthday.
He is survived by five sons, Ken (Shirley), Melvin (Kathy), Bob (Cindy), Allen (Dianne) and Ron (Sandra); twelve grandchildren, Kandice (Brent), Curtis (Jody), Nicholas, Kelsey (Paddy), Micheal, Kara (Brennon), Jessica (Robin), Jason (Quinn), Brayden (Sara), Corbin (Tania), Alanna and Stephen (Jo); seven great-grandchildren, Taylor (Evan), Morgan (Eric), Jaylin, Nolan, Brady, Abigail and Libby; three sisters, Mary Holowaychuk, Pearl Kalchuk and Lilly Boychuk.
Walter was predeceased by his wife Mary, who he missed dearly; his parents, Peter and Josephine; brothers, John, Mike and Peter; and sisters, Rose, Ann and Helen.
Prayer Service Monday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael Recreation Centre, St. Michael, AB.
Divine Liturgy Tuesday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Star-Peno, AB. Basilian Fathers officiating with interment in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church or to the Lamont Health Care Centre.
