Walter Fredrick Schaus of Clifford, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in his 95th year.
Walter was born in Carrick Township on January 23, 1926 to Conrad and Alma (Bieman) Schaus.
On June 18, 1949, he married Elsie Lantz, and God blessed their marriage with three children, Dennis & Wilma Schaus of Clifford, Dovene & John Steele of Salt Spring Island, B.C., and Douglas & Susan Schaus of Hanover.
Grandfather of Daniel & Linda Schaus, Marc Schaus, Jennifer Steele, Casey Steele, Alayna & Tim Tubman, Ryan & Annie Schaus, and Meagan & Justin Moorey, and great-grandfather of Brock, Kara, Jackson, Gracie, Mason, Riley, and Cameron.
Predeceased by his granddaughter Courtneay Jane Steele, siblings Conrad Schaus and his wife Viola, Eugene Schaus and his wife Erna, Hulda Werner & her husband Nelson, Aaron Schaus and his wife Emma, Gertrude Bender and her husband Arno, and Len Schaus and his wife Evelyn.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Saturday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jody Rinas officiating. The funeral will be live-streamed and the link will be available on the funeral home web-site as soon as it is available.
Interment in Clifford Cemetery.
Memorial donations to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifford, would be appreciated.
