W Morley Beard 2020

Morley Beard passed away on Monday, November 23rd, 2020 at his home in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 84 Years. Morley was born October 15th, 1936 in Ridgedale, SK to W. Sydney Beard and Ruby Mae Beard (née: Steele). He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Beard and daughters, Paula (Edmonton, AB), Laura (Saskatoon, SK) and Shauna (Melburne, Australia); and brother, H. Glen Beard (Terrace, BC). Morley was a resident of Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon, SK during his working years. Following an early retirement, he was fortunate to live the winter months in Florida and enjoyed gardening, golfing and fishing in the summers at the Resort Village of Mistussine, on Lake Diefenbaker, SK.
Morley was a life-time employee of Saskatchewan Recreation and Resource Departments, having varied duties and traveling extensively in Saskatchewan developing and or enhancing recreation facilities including Battlefords Provincial Park Golf Course, Cypress Hills Park Ski Hill, Blackstrap Ski Hill and Chair Lift, various recreation sites in and around Lake Diefenbaker, development of the Resort Village of Mistussine, and duties involving many facilities at Provincial Government sites, parks and local areas. Morley was a volunteer administrator with Swim Saskatchewan Inc, receiving a Lifetime Membership for his services and was recognized as a Volunteer in Administration by Sask Sport Inc.
Due to the Covid-19 health situation, a Private Family Service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
