On November 30th,, 2020 at the age of 86, Virginia Eunice Nodding of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully with her husband of 62 years, Douglas Nodding, daughter, Wendy, son Wade, grandson, Evan and son-in-law, Tommy by her side in her final moments.
Virginia was born in First Peninsula on September 13, 1934 and was the only daughter of the late Wilfred D. and Helen Zinck.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Douglas, daughter, Wendy (Tommy) Mills, Lunenburg; son, Wade (Shelly), Chester Grant; grandsons, Evan (Emily) and Andrew (Carol Lee) both of Halifax; great-grandchildren, Cynthia Virginia, and James Douglas.
Virginia worked in many different places throughout her life. Her greatest achievement was taking the course at Harbour View Haven for practical nursing and getting the award for best bedside manners. This award was very appropriate for Virginia as she was to become a caregiver for her Aunt Elsie and her mother, Helen.
In the words of her grandson, Evan, my grandmother leaves behind a legacy of love that cannot be measured. Nanny gave nothing but love to those around her and she always knew exactly what to say when a person needed advice.
Thank you to the Palliative Care Team of Lunenburg, especially Dr. Gowan for letting Mom be in charge.
Also, a big thank you to Mom’s NP Axel who took such great care of Mom and was there until the end.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy # 3, Lunenburg. A family service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society.

In the words of Mom
After I Am Gone
The earth will flourish
The grass will grow
Flowers will bloom
Soft breezes will blow
After I’m gone
